Auxiliary Fuse Block As I move forward with the build-up, I know there will be a long list of 12V devices that will be added to the jeep. Rather than creating a rats nest by the end of the project, I decided to add a 2nd fuse box under the hood to kee things tidy. Install the 120 and 240 volt circuits in the sub-panel as needed. So I dismantled the entire fuse box using a terminal pick(i.e. removed all of the guts from the fuse box leaving it a plastic shell). From there, using shrink-tubed butt connectors I rewired the entire fuse box to the existing harnesses in the truck. This will explain how to add an auxiliary fuse block to any vehicle. I have added this to several vehicles for various purposes and occasionally added multiples to one vehicle. The most common use for a fuse block is creating a convenient and safe place to add additional electric accessory to a vehicle.

I also wanted to be able to easily wire accessories as my Jeep JK customization develops. Pink wire goes to an ignition-on fuse tap (positive), 10ga red wire goes through an in-line breaker (supplied) to the battery, and the negative ground for the relay is at one of the screws on the fuse box mount.

So I dismantled the entire fuse box using a terminal pick(i.e. removed all of the guts from the fuse box leaving it a plastic shell). From there, using shrink-tubed butt connectors I rewired the entire fuse box to the existing harnesses in the truck. Each individual Aux relay circuit is protected by a 30 amp fuse and each non-switched wire is protected by a 15 amp fuse. The total simultaneous load on the relay/fuse module should not exceed about 60 amps.
